got the blanks cut up, and ready for some testing. not sure why, but having some problems with the laser on this one. got the feeds, and speeds just right, but something on the x axis is giving a shudder. so, i think i am going to switch as much as i can to the cnc. tests on the beer prayer signs, and one, that i gave the first one to pop. he thought it was quite funny. i also put a quick splash of paint on the last test, and it worked out ok

i have the new signs all painted and ready to go. should be able to start carving them tomorrow.

got 2 sets of signs cut before needing to shut down and get home before curfew (not in our little town though). pop has his sign displayed in the bathroom.

got the rest of the signs carved today, and have to redo one that got messed up.

the one that got messed up, turned out to be three, and then due to misplacement of my x and y, i added 3 more to the pile. today, i made very sure that the x and y starting points were in the right area, and got the last 3 done, and trimmed to size. i'm thinking about taking them in to work with me, to finish them off. lots of free time now.
