I roughed out these bowls in March, and just finished them recently. Boy does Sycamore move a LOT. What a PITA! Also, it seemed extremely difficult to cut cleanly, resulting in bad tearout even with a very sharp gouge and light cuts.
The first is about 10" wide, finished with Behlen's salad bowl finish.
The second is the same finish, plus some paste wax, and was given to my dad as a father's day present. He especially liked this one as I was finishing it. Although its very thin on the edge, its very durable, as its been dropped a few times (by me, unintentionally. )
