Table Saw, Overhead Dust Collection

Hi Everyone,

I don't seem to find anything I need using Google Search. Basically I want to know what you do about collecting dust from the top of the table saw.

Are there useful commercial units?

What about kick-back when using top of saw dust collecting?

Thanks and Enjoy,

Jim

My saw has a dust hood integrated into the guard that attaches to the top of the riving knife. I have a feed from the DC (2.5") to that and to the main DC (5") port at the back of the saw. Very little dust escapes - except when cutting MDF for some reason.

Oh - it's a minimax cu300 saw. Recommended.

Try this
http://www.leestyron.com/sharksawstop.php

I have not used it but several people I know recommend it highly.

Jim,

If I ever hit the lotto, I'm getting one of them new-fangled shark guards. It's hard to imagine making one for less than they cost, and you'd have to rip off his design anyway... ;)

Thanks,

Bill

Pennstate Industries has one. I just bought the PSI blade guard, and built the rest. I am using the MJ pro splitter in a ZCI also.
Excalibur also has an overhead unit. The Shark is probably the best I've seen.
