I'm to be the featured artist at a downtown K'ville gallery on Friday and I'm trying to get some pieces ready that they don't already have... trying my hand at goblets, wine glasses and hurrican lamps..
The white goblet is from a piece of RED TIP we have growning at the west end of the house... they're dying now so I guess I'll have lots of RT to turn soon.... some of the trunks are nearly 5 inches dia. The lamps are from the same maple tree that I've been working on for a couple of years... still have a ton to go. The wine glass stems are various woods - small glue ups.. except for the two that are mahogany.

Edit--- part of my pictures didn't up load... also don't know how I got this as reply.. was supposed to be another thread.

Nice-looking work, Chuck. :thumb: I hope you do real well at the show, too.

BTW, I moved this post out of the "Big Bowl" thread into its own thread for you. ;)

Darren,
Originally I bought the glass bulbs from CSUSA, but just yesterday I spent an hour in the local goodwill picking up wine glasses and I'll knock off the stems myself. Lots more economical that way.
