Platform bed

Here is the bed I have been working on. Well one of the two. This one has a walnut faceframe and birch ply for the case. The face was assembled useing dowels and the rest of the bed is put together useing pocket hole screws. The drawer fronts will be curly walnut. Just have to wait for the drawer slides to come in before I finish the drawers. Then I will post finished pics.

And, yes, this is another ongoing project - still have a few things to do - like trim.....
 
shoulda rounded those corners, ouch, that must sting on a midnight potty run.
Yep - that's one thing I regret not having done - but must say I've only caught them once or twice in the last 6 years. The bed was actually an experiment to see if I could build usable furniture from cheap, big box, #2 shelving pine. It's held up very well!
