anyone have any ideas or opinions on a HP size for a drill press, what is considered adequate. i'm not going expensive with a drill press because i will mostly be using it to drill holes for euro hinges. some of the cheaper ones i have seen are about 1/2 to 3/4 hp. will this be enough to do what i want? i won't be drilling metal or anything else besides wood.

thanks

chris, i`ve found the 17" tai/chi units do what i need in the shop....they`re disposable but you should get several years use out of a tried-n-true model....i`d avoid the "new and improved" ones unless you want to gamble? 3/4 hp is what most of `em run.......tod

Chris

I just bought a 17" from Steel City Tool Works There is a $75 rebate until the end of the year

Arrived last night, got it out of the box but haven't built a rolling stand for it yet.

Fit and finish look good, it has a 3/4 hp motor.

Pics to follow!
