Attachment pics on the new host.

This is the code now on the forum, after moving to the new ISP. Clicking gives an error message.

Removing "public_html" gives this code, that, when clicked, brings up the attachment

Yep, that is basically what I have too.

Cheers!

OK this is for sure a nameserver problem, I just did a "WHOISLOOKUP" on the URL with the "/public_html/" and the webhost for that is listed as 1and1, this URL..........

http://familywoodworking.org/public_html/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=2278&d=1166771304

if you take out that bit you get this URL.........

http://familywoodworking.org/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=2278&d=1166771304

and while this gets you an image, the hosting, according to the WHOISLOOKUP is still 1and1....................... but the pic shows up.......:dunno:

Stu... Were the attachments changed from "store in database" to "store in file"? If they were changed to "store in file"....that file may still be on 1and1 and was not copied and uploaded to the server on Bluehost. That's why it keeps looking for them in the file on 1and1....No?

:huh::huh::huh:

No, they are still in the database.

BTW, they were over 120 Mb of the 150 Mb that we had, so that is a lot of pics!:thumb:

So the change was never made at 1and1?

"BTW, they were over 120 Mb of the 150 Mb that we had, so that is a lot of pics!:thumb:"

"Were" 150mb on 1and1, but "are" 120Mb now in the database on Bluehost?

This is an interesting situation.... Er.. challenge!

OK, now this is weird, take a look at this post.............

http://familywoodworking.org/forums/showthread.php?t=1100

You will see post #2 the thumbnails are attahced, but not "Inserted" into the post, they show up, in post #3 the pics are inserted and they don't show, must be something set up wrong......................

I'll try it here and see what happens..........

ginko_big_log.jpg

That pic above is inserted, the one at the bottom is attached........

Weird..... (The problem, not you Greg ;))

Works with "insert link", but not "insert image"...

Stu,

When you embed an attachment into the text...click on it, you get that "/public_html/" in the addy....but no "www" at the beginning. If you click on a regular attachment, "/public_html/" is not there, the "www" is there, and the pic is visible. Something is happening to add/delete those into the addy which screws things up...

Ok, I've done some digging and made a change that I hope helps.

Can I ask that someone that doesn't have the name server problem please post a picture (and also try to click on a picture that was posted while we were at 1&1)?

I still can't get on the forum using the name. I have to use the IP addr, so I can't check myself.

Thanks...

Ok, it looks like my change helped...but it's only part of the problem. I can see the image if I replace 'familywoodworking.org' with the ip address and user name of our server.

I think we need to wait a while until all the name servers are updated.

Fingers crossed...
