Hollowing equipment question

With the bowl from a board discussion, could the hollowing equipment like Vaughn has be used to cut an angled cut with a thin parting tool to accomplish the same thing? (eliminate the use of the bandsaw?) Just wondering from those of you who have this equipment. May influence my timeline on this purchase.

Are you talking about the coring tools, the McNaughton?

If so, then I think the answer is yes, as there is one straight blade in the kit I bought.

Cheers!

The straight McNaughton knives would work, but they wouldn't really fall into the "thin" parting tool category. I'd think you could use a hollowing rig (like the Monster articulating arm) with the narrow bit, but the bit would need to be found or fabricated. (Grinding down a wider bit wouldn't be too tough.)
