Tribute pen for a WWII vet

Last show I did a family came up and asked if I could make a pen out of a shell fired at Grandpa's funeral. The star crimp on the blank made it interesting. It went through the resizer ok but the marks from the crimp were too deep to sand out. At least this way they know the shell came from the funeral. Top is "Patriotic swirl" inlace from Rockler, bullet nib is solid copper. Picture is crappy, didn't have time to set up the light tent.

Although I'm not a big fan of the cartridge pens, you did an excellent job on this one, and I'm sure it has a lot of significance to the family. Great job! :thumb:
