I am doing touch ups for a hotel and brushing a coat of poly on everything to "FRESHEN" up the furniture. Anyway it is really dry in there. The finish is drying as fast as I brush it on. Called Hood finishes and they recommended adding a teaspoon of glycrin(sp) to every quart. It is supposed to slow down the evaperation of the water. Any ever use this method?

Al, I know that they use glycerin based products as retarders in artist acrylic paint, but have had no first hand experience. Looking forward to what you experience with this.:)

Well, I have tried it several times. Going from a half teaspoon to 2 teaspoons per quart. No real difference. I sm going to call them in the moring andd request a refund or exchange on it. It is odd that the Target wb poly I used in the same building on the same day went on perfect. I brushed it on and it leveled out perfect. The Hood wb poly dried almost intantly and did/would not level out. I guess you get what you pay for.
