TPI ?

Nothing that bad. I'm making my first peppermill and wanted to drill a specific depth. I have a chart that, if you put in your tpi, it tells you how far per revolution. I went with the old tape measure method and got 1/16" per turn.

Thank's Jonathan, I have the head stock tpi. Just got off the phone with Jet tech support and even they didn't know the TPI of the tail stock. On the bright side, they're having an engineer call me back. It's nice to know I didn't get the dump-off...yet. When a DVR hit's my doorstep next year, I hope the same thing doesn't happen.

Oh sure - it's an inside thread (unless I wanna tear it apart, i don't :p).

Near as I can tell it's 18tpi. 16tpi is too coarse and 20tpi seems too fine. My 18tpi gauge seems to fit the best.
