That's probably why most folks start... and most of us probably went through a phase where we'd build everything instead of buying it. It's been a long time since I made any adirondak chairs... maybe 15 years... but I think I remember my cost for a poplar chair was something around $35. I made several of them, and the only way I got faster on subsequent ones was because I already had the templates made. I think I'd pay $149 for one today before I did it myself.

And next time we're at Cracker Barrell, a couple of those rockers are coming home with us to the porch.

thats my full intentions, to build as much furniture for me and my family in the next 10 to 15 years, if I live that long.
They have to take it whether they want it or not!
