liming wax

my wife read about a table the they used liming wax on to restore it. What does it do? does it put moisture back in it or what? what do you use on oak to bring it back to life? The oak is real dry and cracked. it is on an old childs rocker.

Never heard of it but did a Google search and found Amazon sells it.
