This has been about a 6 month project. The body is Bocote I saw the Bocote lumber in the Woodcrafters store and fell in love with it. The neck is a maple after market production model. I didn't feel quite up to trying to build one to hold up under the strain of 12 strings. I didn't like the contrast of the maple headstock, so I re-sawed some of the Bocote down to about 1/16 inch and laminated the headstock with it. All in all I'm very pleased with the look. I'm still playing with the setup but it plays nice.

Hot rats! That looks very sweet. The bocote really looks flashy, and I'll bet it's got lots of mass.

Great job, Dan. :guitar: :thumb:

It is kinda beefy, It weighs in right at 12 pounds.

Sweet! Looks like great work! Bet that sucker is kinda heavy though, Bocote is pretty dense stuff. Are you a "Byrds" fan?

I loved the Byrds! Now if I could just play like Roger McGuinn!
