The plant taxonomist in me -- My graduate degree -- is now speaking sorry :wave:

Sycamore - Acer pseudoplatanus -- in the UK notice the genus is the same as most maples in the U.S.

The American Sycamore is Platanus occidentalis L. is not in the same family.

Please note that I did not say it was Sycamore the UK kind or the American Sycamore -- I was pointing out that the use of Common names is very confusing. -- they may refer to VERY different plants -- were you live makes a difference --

Without an in person examination I am leaning towards Sweetgum. the Fruit would be a dead give away... because Sycamore, maple, sweetgum all a very different and distinct fruit.
