My Grandauter couldn't wait to get back to work on her house so she decided to pitch in and help me on a table I am refinishing in the shop. She just walked in picked up the Jack plane and started in to work. Then we got to work finishing the frameing on her house. The other two pics are her checking our work. And yes she actually does make cuirls with the plane. She preferse hand tools to those noisy power tools.

good to see that she's making sure everything's square and level :thumb:

reminds me of when my twin nephews were that age. they wanted to help with uncle's kayak. i gave them demos of what my power tools could do if used improperly, and they agreed not to touch them. :thumb: when i cut the plywood skin panels, the one would hold the plywood, while the other swept the sawdust as fast as i made it. when it came time for the fiberglassing, i made sure they knew what the resin smelled like, and if uncle was using what they called the "stinky-stuff", they were to stay away from the garage. they did just that one day, i was working with the fiberglass, and they came out to help, and they stopped 20 ft from the garage door and said "oh, you're working with the stinky-stuff.", and went out to the yard to play.

Lets see... Arizona... it will have insulation and solar panels on the roof, won't it? And a mister system on the eaves?

Well lets see, her dad woks for awindow company and is getting dual pane windows low e of course. It will sit on my patio which already has a mister system. No all I got to do is figure how to put R-40 insulations into 2 x 2 framed walls..
