last thursday i ran into a coworker who was doing some work on his house, and he asked me if i could use some hard maple off cuts (i know, a silly question), and i readily agreed to take them off his hands. what had happened, is that his stairway treads are all hard maple, and they were too wide, and too deep, and they had to cut them to fit. either way, i have some nice hard maple to play with.
