Also did a couple of wood goblets for today's craft show... didn't sell them, but got lots of compliments from the lookers.
The first one is from Mimosa... first time I ever turned Mimosa... the wood's a little soft and a little stringy, but did turn nicely. I rubbed the goblet down with BLO before I used the polyurethane... I still see a couple of tool marks on the inside after I got the finish on... still need to work on the hollowing of my goblets. The goblet is about 6 5/8 inches high x 3 1/2 inches wide.
The second is from Dogwood... that's pretty hard wood, but I really like the way it turns. This goblet is 7 inches high and 3 1/2 inches wide. Finished with wipe on poly and buffed with carnuba.
