the other day my dad and i finally got around to replacing the old, rotted post and mailbox the other day. we had a good time of it, and we figured that that redwood post lasted about 44 years in the ground, before it finally rotted enough so that it kept leaning from side to side. the new post is pressure treated lumber, and should be good to go for another forty years.
