This Elm bowl is about 8” Diameter and 4” high. It came from a neighbor’s yard 4 or 5 years ago and was finally finished and delivered on Saturday. They were quite pleased.

Very nice, Don. I'm sure the neighbor was pleased. Was that elm hard to turn when dry? The couple of pieces of elm I've finish turned were sure some tough, tool-dulling pieces of wood when dry.

Nice bowl Don. I particularly like the lip. I dont see many turners put a lip on their bowls. Is that design or just cause they dont know how to?:) Nice smooth color that bowl has.:thumb:

Don,
Very nice bowl... love the grain pattern.
I think I've lost most of my elm... I had to have 50 ft tree taken down right after we moved here and no place to store it under cover... I notices a lot of the logs are mush now.

Thanks Folks !

I sure appreciate all the nice comments.

I did not find this dry Elm all that hard while turning. Not sure what exact species it is.

And yeah Chuck, Elm goes bad pretty fast. This had been cut in half and waxed and stored in a dry shed.
