winged, lidded, bowl? box?

I am not sure what to call this. It is 10" square.

The bottom section is "Andiroba" sp?, a poor choice of wood for this shape (it was difficult to get a clean exit cut near the corners). The lid is Holly, pierced by some talented worms. The finial is Cocobolo.

Dennis nice bowl. Never done anything like that yet. Might have to put that on my need to try list. Your right them worms are real talented.:thumb:

Great piece Dennis, :thumb: I tried one of those suspended bowls once... it jumped off the lathe and broke two legs... so I shot it.:rofl:
