Lathe tools ????

My preference is Thompson Tools. They stay sharper longer and are some great tools. I am slowly replacing my Sorby's, Henry's, etc. with these tools. You can find them doing a search for Thompson Lathe Tools.

I also like "Doug Thompson" tools I have and USE 3 of them -- someday I will have more of them -- and I also have Ci1 and a Ci0 from Easy-wood tools.

Another vote for Thompson tools. They are reasonably priced and the stay sharp longer than any others I've used. The Ci1 and Ci0 from Easy Wood Tools and their little cousins are also a good addition, but I'd invest in good gouges first.

And when you're ready to go hollowing, look up Randy Privett and Monster Lathe Tools. ;) (I really like the Monster handles on Thompson gouges, too. Great combination.)

Like every one else Thompson, great guy, good tools. Basically if he makes it I don't look elsewhere, only if I have to get something he doesn't make otherwise there is no point.
