Little Late - Star Wars Halloween Costume

A little late with this one. Last Halloween my son asked if I would make his costume. Odd I thought, Mom usually makes his costume. It went something like this:
"Dad, can you make my costume this year?"
"Uh, I guess. What do you want to be?"
"Jango Fett."
"What is that?"
"The bounty hunter from Star Wars. The guy all the clone troopers are made from."
"Oh, sure thing. Is he the guy that captures Han Solo for Jaba The Hut?"
"No, that's Boba Fett his clone son."
"Oh. Then what does Jango Fett look like?"
"Dad (annoyed now) he looks the same as Boba - Boba's his clone.
"Oh, right."
"Jango's helmet is blue and silver not green. That's how you tell them apart."

So, now I've got the right guy, but it begins to dawn on me that I have no idea how to make a helmet, let alone one that is supposed to look like something specific. Thank goodness for the internet! I found all sorts of stuff on how to make Star Wars costumes. The real saving grace was finding a set of templates I could print out to make Jango Fett's helmet from cardboard! There was a bit of woodworking in the ear pieces, but most of it was cutting cardboard and lots of sanding filler. In the end it came out much better than I had expected.

The end result - a happy boy for Halloween.
Thanks for looking, Wes
