That's an excellent price if it's all there, it runs, the beds/fence slide and lock freely, and no cracks. For that price I wouldn't worry too much about the knives.

Cheers,

Please do NoT change the motor!! For that price run 220/240V to your shop.

Maybe barter with an electrician... many out there that will work with you.. just ASK!!

Or do like I'm doing until I get an electrician to run 220 to my shop, make a 220v 'Extension' cord and unplug the dryer.. :thumb:

I told you guys, My wife is very understanding... She has to be...:D

Most 6" jointers only have a 1 hp motor, and it's usually capable of being wired for either 120 or 240v~. You may only need to swap around a couple wires within the motor, and put a new power cord on it. There's often/usually a motor wiring diagram on the underside of the cover, where the wires go into the motor. Check it out!

...Unless, of course, you mean that the current motor is three-phase... (Many commercial shops are.) In that case, you will need a new motor.

I agree with Jim, I'll bet it just needs some wires moved around and it would run on 110v, great buy if you can get it :thumb:

Oh yeah, welcome to the Family
