shop made carbide rougher

I got a Ci0 Easy Finisher a few weeks ago and really like it a lot. As I was looking around the web at different reviews before I bought it I saw several examples of roughing tools that people had made using carbide inserts. I thought I would give it a go and see if I could make one for myself. Here's the results of my work. This thing will hog off wood like nothing I've ever used before.

Put me down as another that has been looking at these tools and wanting to make one. Nice job, by the way.

Couple questions:

What thread does the screw have (may have to buy a tap)?

What did you use for the shank and where did you get it?
and
When you use one for these, do you go straight into the wood or do you cant the tip at a slant?

Thanks
