Great songs of the age

Sheesh, you turn your back on the forum for a few hours and focus hard on some shop time and look what kind of a thread pops up!?!
I'm feeling quite left out.

What? No love for A Flock of Seagulls and Culture Club?

80's? We can do 80's. If we really must. :p

(Note, I edited Kevin's quote)

Finally, some Rush, so I don't have to go dig up links to YYZ, or Xanadu, or some other such goodness do I?

Oh and 80s, Vaughn? Hmmm,

How about Icicle Works?
Or maybe Tears For Fears?
Perhaps some Duran Duran? Talking Heads? Elvis Costello can be fun also (though this isn't my favourite version.)
And while I'm no fan, I do like this Violent Femmes song.

Oh wait, you need a girl band too. (No, not that one.)

Okay, that's enough of the 80s....

Now guys, based on the comments in this thread, I think most of you would enjoy listening to Randy Bachman's radio show. He's on CBC-1 every Saturday night. But never mind that, you can go to the website and listen to old shows off the net.

Randy used to play with "The Guess Who" and then "Bachman Turner Overdrive" and still plays. His radio show is a great look back at 40 years of rock-and-roll. The stories he comes up with each week about different artists and hits are just fascinating. Definitely worth a listen.

That's a great version of Tom Sawyer. (Another song I taught to a lot of kids.) The one time I saw Rush in concert (the same tour as the video) I was amazed at the amount of sound three guys could put out. That video reminded me of that fact. :thumb:
