Today a friend of mine showed up telling me: As I know that you are a woodworker and I will not use it, here you have this. It belonged to my father in law who was a professional woodworker.

As you can see it is an electric hand plane.

It looks as it had been neglected for long time as the aluminium base is oxidiced.

and the blades that at the beggining looked as if they had planed some metal are broken.

The rest is ok, I oiled the bearings, cleaned the carcass and lapped the soles until they looked ok.
This is the front sole half way of getting rid of the rust.

This is once finished lapping.

Now I have to get two spare blades and there I go, an electric plane for very little money.

That cleaned up nicely, Toni. I've got one that I don't use very often at all, but when I do, it's handy to have.

I've got a couple of those, on about that same size and one monster that is over 6" (15cm) wide, they are not used very often, but when I do need them, they do a great job of removing a LOT of wood in a hurry.

They are really messy tools :D

Congrats on the nice tool score, and great job on the restoration!
