Finger joints

I just bought a Ammana finger joint bit and I'm having trouble using it. The problem is every time I cut the ends of the boards I always have a finger that's sticking out the top (or bottom, which ever way you look at it). I read some where to turn over the other board you attaching before ruining it through. (still not sure what that means. Ammana sent no directions). I want to be able to join the two boards together and have them flush on both sides, Is that asking to much?

Thanks Bill

Hey that Tip page is pretty cool.

the 2nd and 4th side needs to be offset the thickness of the sides (board)

Will try to locate a video to watch.
