This is what i made the final out of for the cherry hollow form. My bro brought it over last weekend. He told me it was a bush not a tree

. He also said it has small purple berries on it . This one was in his front yard all by it self. He also told me his back yard right on the edge is covered with them. Never noticed them before when i was there. :huh:

Any help would be more than welcome.

My guess is Black Tupelo. They can grow 80 to 100 ft. tall and have a narrower crown rather than a spreading crown. The berries form in clusters of 2-6 on the end of a 1-1/2" stem. Also known as Black Gum, it is know as a good turning wood and is used for spindles and posts in furniture construction sometimes as a substitute for cherry or walnut.
