Since I got the metal lathe back in March, I've been looking for a project. awhile back there was an article in Shop Notes on making scribes, so I figured that would be a good place to start. Got to use the metal lathe and the wood lathe
The material is hex 5/16" across the flats.
Heat with the torch and twist with a crescent wrench.
The hardest part is keeping it straight.
Turned the end down to fit the wooden hanldle.
I forgot to take a picture of turning the point.
Turned the handle out of Bocote on the wood lathe.
Finished.
Now I need a project to use it on.
