Top pen is an Executive Twist. It's picture may be 2 stops over-exposed. Bottom is a Long Clicker.
The idea of the dyeing is to take advantage of the stripes in the curly maple.
1st dye colour - orange, sand off gently. Re-dye with orange, and sand off gently again. 2nd dye colour is green. Green makes some of the orange turn brown. Repeat until you are happy with the colour.
The dyes are very dull when first dry. Sanding sealer pops the colours. All dyes are alchol based drying reasonably quickly.
