Cauls

I was fixing to make some new 24" cauls out of some cherry cutoffs I had laying around. Part of my cleaning up the garrage to get all the wood off the floor.

I was thinking 2" x 2" cross section, does this sound about right? I've only ever used 2x4's before so I wasn't sure if it needed to be the same thickness or smaller for a hardwood.

jeb 2x2 would be fine, actually I've made em even smaller and they work great.

+1 on 2x2. I have some 1x2x24 bowed cauls in maple but that just happened to be the size of the scraps ;-)
