Actually, that piece is going to be a flatwork project in a year or two. While that's drying, I have this 2 1/2" thick offcut to work with on the lathe. I see a very nice feathered walnut platter coming out of this little leftover piece.

There will still be a couple or more nice pieces left after I take the big platter out of the middle, too...

Steve, I sure do appreciate your participation in the wood relay. :thumb: The FW network comes through once again. :) I hope to do this sweet wood justice.
 
You will for sure need a bigger faceplate!

It was great to meet you and my pleasure to be part of the trucking company that got Michigan chocolate to California.

By the end of the week I will have my chunk and its three Tennessee cherry cousins racked, stickered and drying. I'll take pics then and post them.
