Anybody here have experience in automotive electrical issues?

Well, the garage got it smogged ok, but the mechanic confirmed what I'm thinking. There's a short in the dash. Charging system is ok, grounds are ok, just a short that needs to be found. So, I've got a year to get on it!

So what are the chances Brent doesn't update this thread until 7/1/2011??

Well, it aint the ignition switch! I had a whole big theory on how the ignition switch was worn out and how that would cause that problem. Got the ignition switch and installed it and that wasn't it, so the dash comes out this weekend.

The more I think about the way it works, when you trigger any accessory, it sends all of the accesories kind of haywire, so it has to be some sort of a short in the dash. So out it comes. It's now officially a project vehicle...
