I have a question about the ratio for a Cross. I have looked and not really found anything. Is there a standard for the length of the cross piece to the vertical? And where is the cross piece mounted on the vertical.

I have made a few in the past and always just used what looked good to me....

Thanks
Garry

The base point to start from is a 1-2-3 ratio. Simple example: If the cross arm is 2' wide the the vertical above the arm is 1' tall and the vertical below the arm is 3' long. IMHO

We've all got a cross to bear, for you, it is figuring out what works best... :thumb: Rennie has a good point as well as Frank.
