Pushed the 'on button' tonight... fired up my online photo gallery site and just received the logo for my studio:

And while it isn't full storefront level, I decided to go with Zenfolio for my studio hosting (specific domain to follow in a day or two, weighing options for that still )

I haven't used zenfolio before, I'd be interested in your opinion of it after you've had some time to use it. I just closed my smugmug account, but only because we're saving money right now, I'll probably re-open it after we close and get settled in the new house. I really liked smugmug, mostly their viewer interface, but the fact you could customized the site to match your existing external site and still use the external site by doing CN names ( http://photos.yoursitename.com instead of http://smugmug.com/username ) to link to your photos. Prices are about the same, but may just install Gallery2 on my current website.

Site looks good Ned! :thumb: Will follow up with you later for a review of zenfolio.

Darren,
Check your PMs for detailed discussion... but the short form is twofold

1) there is an onthelevel photo at smugmug, and 2) at $100 per year for the full version, I figured zenfolio was worth that just for the first year either way.

Frank,
working on the red x thing now...

Well couple of things updated, the camera is now vertical, and couple of friends elsewhere thought the black and white lettering was distracting... so I had my graphics friend update with a splash of color.

Heh, don't you like it when folks give opinions... I liked the white lettering too...

I checked the image out and I'll be darned, the horizontal lines are level. I just think the angles of the top part of the camera are what throws the eye off and tricks it into thinking the camera is ever so slightly tilted to the left, but it isnt...

Congrats on the new business Ned. As to the logo, you hired someone to design it. I would leave it the way they did it. It worked. There is something eye catching about the camera not being level and it fits the wording. Just my 5 cents, but i believe dont hire a dog if you intend to do the barking yourself. With this kind of thing you can end up with a "spagetti western" if you aint careful.
