Two rows of slats

Bowl is made from cherry and maple. Each row has 48 segments each (except the base), the slats rows contain 106 pieces for a total of 574 pieces. Only reason for 48 pieces was just to see how hard it would be to do. Movie of this bowl being made can be seen at http://dennyedwards.com and Hi-res photos can be seen at http://gallery.me.com/edwardsx.

Love it. Very nice job with the, well, I don't know what to call it. The absence of wood? the anti segments? :thumb:

I'm not really into segmented work but this type always appeals. Far too intricate for me. I'd get the measuring all wrong and end up with something that looked more like a Picasso bowl. Very clever and very well executed.

Nice one, I like it!
I'd have to get off my meds (or double them) to stay with that one....:D
Some day..... I really see the value of segmentation for future SW forms esp as the natives use a lot of geometric design.
