My beef with the makita was only the blade guard, it had flimsy plastic rivets that as soon as a piece of wood bounced into it, it broke right off.
I see the new model you have has a piece of metal, or so it looks and Im sure the rivets arent plastic holding that blade guard on there.
Yours looks so much sleeker than mine, and mine is only like a bit over a year old, but then again, maybe thats why it was on sale, old inventory.
I use the slider more than any other tool in my shop, even more than the TS.
Wish saw stop would come out with a mitre version.
