cherry offering trays

These are for our elec at work. A arson burned down there church a couple months ago. Well they had insurance just not enough.They are rebuilding but are looking for any help they can get. This is just my little way of helping them out. They are 2"x 12 1/2, cherry with walnut bands. finish is 2 coats rattle can bulls eye shellac, 2 coats rattle can lacquer. Will wax and buff later.

Nice! I like the cherry details. Adds a nice little bit of visual interest, if you ask me, which you didn't... :thumb:
 
I have not tried the transtint but I do like taking the bland wood and playing with the colors.............very nice...........and the good part about mixing with DNA is it shouldnt raise the grain...........
 
Thanks all. I really didn't expect much from these as there just some trays,platters. I belive they will be put to good use, so that's what counts.:) I did make them a little thick as i figured if some one droped them they woun't brake.
Cynthia, na there's no reason for the stripes, other than looks. Not even sure what kind of church it is.:dunno:
