With Caragana.
Sanded to 400x, buffed with super fine steel wool, burnished with Caragana wood shavings, saturated with BLO, let dry over night, and burnished on 6 coats of BLO letting it dry between coats.
The burnishing generates lots of heat to dry the BLO between coats.
Finish sure has that warm, satin feel of wood.
No adhesive used for assembly.
Sorry guys I should have mentioned that I drilled the top section with a Letter I (.272") drill bit for a nice tight fit for the 7mm (.275") tube.
