I just received a Duro scroll saw. It is from the 50's. The saw has a 8" square table and 12" throat. I only had to add a new pully, so hopefully I will have a chance to get the motor on it and try it out.

Looks basic, but well built.

If you don't need the height, I wonder if it would be an advantage to make a larger table for it?

I would like to get a scroll saw, but I find the cheaply made plastic ones not worth bothering about, and the "Good" ones here are well made, and this is reflected in the price

Cheers!

Japan prices never fail to surprise me Stu. Scroll saws here are dirt cheap if you know where to look. I was at a dealer a while back and he said take you pick for 50$. He probably had 40+ lined up in the corner.

Stu if the need come where I need a lrger table, I have a chunk 16"x12" 12gauge steel plate:eek: . That should be more then strong enough without taking up to much space.
