Have been doing some more practice with pyrography. I am still waiting for my oil pencils to make it in. When they do arrive I will then do some burning on some of the vase I have turned. Here are some practice pieces that will probably be some of the burnings patterns I will use. Roses are a favorite of mine and also were my mothers favorite flower along with bleeding hearts so the rose part is kind of dear to my heart. Also I love butterflys so you will probably see a few of those. Anyway here they are. The butterfly and red rose are dyed. The yellow rose is semi-hard pastel chalk. All have several light coats of satin poly. Getting better with each one. Now if I could just steady my hand.:rofl:

The rose is pretty spectacular if you ask me. You are definitely getting a handle on this whole thing! :thumb:
