I had requests for a few more trains, so I took a break from finishing setting up the shop to build these
They're a little smaller than my last trains, about 32" from front to back, 4" high, 3.5" wide. I like the size better for a full train, the first trains I built to big and the kids ended up needing to much space to store/play with them. It also let me scale down to 3/4" thick bases which are a lot easier, the larger trains I built before had 1-1/4" thick bases.
If they government will ever clarify the whole testing procedure stuff for lead, I think these could actually be a worthwhile craft to sell. For now it's just on request for friends. Still crossing my fingers that one day as long as the finish/glue manufacturers get their products certified, we won't have to get ours certified.
