Very interesting. I had seen a similar dissertation previously at another forum. The other one mentioned that bodger, or turners, for whatever reason, were assigned a very low position on the social and craftsman's scale for prestige. They were not held in high regard like an jointer or others were.
Must explain why us turners are mostly a bunch of scalawags. :rofl:
 
So I see from the article that even back in the 15th century, turners were curing their wood. They just used water and mud instead of DNA and Anchorseal. :)
