Here's dusty cell phone pic (sorry for that) of a wide rim oak bowl that I turned last night. It was DRY and soaked up 2 heavy coats of danish oil...almost can't even tell it has any finish on it in the pic. The little worm hole in the bowl area came complete with a worm! I removed what was left of him and wiped the rest off my arm. Yuck!:D A few other worm tracks and some spalting make this one look nice, IMHO...Anyway, I hope I can get this piece to stop soaking the oil in and get it finished soon.

Feel free to comment/critique please. :thumb:

Thanks everyone! :thumb: The oak I've used for the past couple of projects was cut over a year ago and so far it's working out great.

Jim, the overal size is just over 10" and the bowl portion is about 4".

Vaughn, I have tried fuming without much luck...I've only used over the counter ammonia and probably didn't let it go long enough...I don't have an ounce of paitence.
