This is a Zuni style pot from some Mike Smith ambrosia maple. It was dry as a bone and sat on the lathe for about a week...just wasn't motivated to finish it. Sanded to 400 with 5 coats of Formby’s Tung oil finish. 6x5 with 1/8" walls...a little thicker at the base for some ballast. It just has that Evil monkey look to it; I'm going to have nightmares:eek::eek:
Last is a Jr Gent black Ti with some Vaughn mesquite...very nice to turn and a nice tactile feel. 4 coats of CA sanded to 4k between coats.

C&C used on the next ones :thumb:

I dont think it looks like the evil monkey. Looks good though.

Sorry but I respectfully disagree, while once one person has said it, it's difficult not to see that monkey resemblance, it rather reminds me some cartoon character, similar to one of Mafalda's friends.

On the other hand I think it is a great piece.:thumb:

Ha!!! Thanks Toni and I hope you're ok after the EQ's in Spain. I'm not to happy with it, but we all turn stuff that may or may not be really happy with. Have one soaking now that should make me happier!;)
