This thing is heavy ! We also found a repacking date and it's kind'a cool.
After a morning of stripping off multiple coats I 'm ready to go find the local swimming hole. Customer wants it back to Oak.

Finished up with this one, Golden Oak, clear coat Satin Lacquer, polished brass. Repainted the interior white. The packing note is back where I found it , under the top.

Show on History Channel - Something Restoration just did one of these but added new electric cooling. They charged the guy $2500!

Yours looks better than what they did.
 
Dave your business must give you a great deal of satisfaction, or at least it certainly would me if i were you.

To provide a service like that well its got everything going for it.

You kept a great historical piece going for another generation to see it and whats more saved it from the landfill, not that i think people would send something like this to landfill.

Great job. You should be beaming from ear to ear with pride in what you do.

By the way, i took a moment to look at your blog, and had not seen those sketches you made. Those wild natural scenes are calendar material man.

You sure got talent.:thumb:
