This nice Victorian Curio Cabinet is from the same customer and the Large table we just finished. He has hopefully much more work for us. It's in bad shape and needs to be hand stripped to save what veneer I can and then reveneer and color and french polish.

What a unique piece. It sure shows a rough life there at the end. Like others have said, can't wait to see your work transform it.
So do you find yourself have a client for a period of time working on stuff they just inherited or have enough to rework the pieces they have collected?

John with the Hot glue system you do not need clamps for veneer. When the glue comes to tac on both pieces press the veneer on and a piece of blue type strapped tightly over the veneer to the surrounding wood it all you need. As The glue dries it sucks the veneer down tight.

That's what the guy in the video I was watching did and said. He said atmospheric pressure acted like a clamp. He used a veneer hammer like a squeegee to adhere the veneer to the substraight. He applied hide glue to both sides of the veneer. He said it keeps the veneer from wanting to cup. He also said that the hide glue wouldn't effect the finish either.
