As the weather warms my projects are moving out-of-doors. We're busy getting quotes for a new front walk. We have a few quotes already for concrete, but we wanted to get at least one quote for pavers. It should be in early next week.

In the mean time I've been designing an arbor flanked by 8' of custom made fence. Don't think I'll get started on it for a week or two, but I hit on a great deal on the lumber so I had to move fast.

The paver people will be here on 6/15 to begin work on the walk. Here's my first question for the group:

Any thoughts on how to anchor it to the ground? I have 10' long 6x6 cedar - I could just bury it and it would probably last a long time. However, I'm considering setting sonotubes at about 36" down, filling them with concrete, and using some kind of metal system to bolt the posts down. Is this over kill?
