Donut chuck???

I thought I would finish out this thread with the final results from this project. I bought a "Highly figured maple" blank from a Rockler store. It sure didn't look like much when I bought it. I couldn't even see much grain in the blank. The finished bowl is approx 8 1/2" x 1 3/4". The wall thickness is about 1/2".
I finished it with "Formbys Antique Oil finish". I tried to buff it with a small buffing pad I had and my drill press :( but I plan on picking up a Beall buffing system this weekend. :D
For a newbie....I'm happy with it and learned along the way.

It's a crying shame that blank didn't have any figure in it. :p

That looks beautiful, Tom. Very well done, especially for someone just getting started turning bowls. :thumb:
